Here’s some of my (recent and past) activities:
- Since February 2015 I met with the local Deaf community then decided to learn about Deaf culture and sign language, from which I identified a lot of potentials to be explored from deaf friends including in the arts. then I decided to start my art project with Deaf friends by giving them the opportunity to appear on stage while I learned to be a Sign Language interpreter.
We performed poetry in sign language with the members of the deaf community at “Makassar
International Writers Festival” opening, an international festival organized every year in Makassar by “Rumata Artspace”.
I usually fulfill the job of interpreting that is needed by deaf communities as access in every official meeting with the government and educational institutions including counseling with criminal cases when the deaf are faced with the law.
July 2018 I and some deaf friends agreed to create an inclusive art community called Komunitas Seni 4 Titik. The name is inspired by the philosophy of 4 sulapa’ or what we know with 4 elements of life. Check our updates on Instagram ks4titik
2013-2018 I participated in the annual performance event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia, entitled ‘Indonesia channel’ which was held in Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Bandung and Jakarta.
- 2013-2015, I was involved as an assistant and dancer in the “Pakarena” project researched and made by Brune Charvin- a French videographer and performing artist. In this project, we met and conducted interviews with the traditional dance masters, art critics and traditional musicians from South Sulawesi.
- Between 2012 - 2018, I became a dance Instructor for the international program called “Indonesian Art and Culture Scholarship”. This program takes place every year for 3 months and it is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia which involves every year awardees from 40-60 countries who come to study the culture of Indonesia (music, dance, Indonesian language).
In 2012, I was one of the members of the royal contingent of Tallo in the “Keraton” Festival. This festival is an annual 2 years festival. I was involved as a Pakarena dancer. Festival Keraton Nusantara
In 2007, in my spare time study, I followed and learned dance with the art company named Makassar Art Group. This art group also one of the leading groups in South Sulawesi which attained many national and international performances.
In 2006, I joined the Batara Gowa art foundation which this studio where I was a dancer when I was 14
years old. I had a vacuum for a few years because of the focus on education. Batara Gowa art foundation is one of the best art company in Indonesia, this art company has followed national and international performances including theater performances I Lagaligo directed by Robert Wilson.
